The Ethnic and Public Affairs Management and Services Committee held its fourth coordination meeting yesterday.
During the meeting, State Administration Council member Union Minister for Defence General Mya Tun Oo, in his capacity as Committee Chairman, stressed the need to follow the COVID-19 health rules in celebrating the Thingyan festival. He also highlighted the policies of the Head of State to develop the cities and villages located in the west of the Ayeyawady River, fire awareness in the hot season, 16 per cent of deforestation including wildfire within 30 years and forest conservation measures. He further talked about monsoon tree-planting programmes in regions/states and preparations to stop the consequences of natural disasters and global warming in the country.
Secretary of the Committee Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung explained the decisions made at the 3/2022 meeting and ongoing work plans.
Deputy Ministers U Ye Tint and U Win Shein, the permanent secretaries, directors-general and officials explained the matters submitted by the Union ministries to the committee according to the relevant sectors.
The committee chairman approved the matters to be submitted to the management committee meeting of the State Administration Council and the issues to be decided by the committee.
Then, Deputy Minister for Education U Zaw Win explained the work completions based on the decisions of previous meetings.
The meeting attendees coordinated the discussion, and the committee chairman concluded the meeting after making a concluding remark. — MNA
