Myanmar Club to compete in Asian Women’s Club Championship 2022

The Myanmar women’s football club will compete in the Asian Women’s Club Championship 2022 organized by the Asian Football Confederation.
Defending champion of the 2018-2019 Myanmar Women’s League Champion ISPE (Institute of Sports and Physical Education) Team will compete in the tourney. The tournament will be divided into two zones. Four teams will compete in the West Asian Zone, with the top team from each zone competing in the finals. Myanmar Club is in the Eastern Asian Zone together with Thailand, and China Taipei. Meanwhile, India, Iran, Jordan and Uzbekistan are placed in the Western Asian Zone.
The zonal tournaments will be held in August. Western Asian Zone matches will be hosted by Uzbekistan, and Eastern Asian Zone matches by Thailand.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) launched the tournament in 2019. Football Clubs from Japan, South Korea, China, and Australia participated in the previous tourney.
In 2020, only the Western Asian Zone Games were held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 epidemic. This year, the confederation will organized both Eastern and Western Asian Zones, officials said.—Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
