MoHT to approve qualification standards for six types of hotels and tourism professionals

It needs to be made widely known among young people and general public interested in tourism

The qualification standards will be approved in line with the ASEAN Curriculum Framework Guidelines for six types of hotels and tourism professionals, such as receptionists, housekeepers, bakers, waiters, tourism consultants and ticket managers, said Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung at the coordination meeting (1/2022) of the Tourism Professional Certification Board-TPCB and the National Tourism Professional Board- NTPB held yesterday afternoon.
It is learned that the skills of the trainees will be assessed in line with the prescribed procedures, and certificates will be issued. The Union Minister also added the need to increase the implementation of MRA-TP by making it widely known among young people and the public interested in tourism. He also urged the members of the boards to work together to do so.
The meeting was held to approve the skills standards in line with the ASEAN Curriculum Framework Guidelines for the six priorities previously discussed and approved, to discuss the future steps of Myanmar to participate in the activities of ASEAN MRA-TP, to bring together National Trainers and National Assessors for the training and evaluation of professionals and to provide the necessary refresher courses. – MNA
