The ceremony of lowering the National Flag to half-mast is in action at the former Ministers' Office.

A ceremony of lowering the State Flag to half-mast was held at the Ministers’ Office (Secretariat) where General Aung San and leaders were assassinated, to mark the 75th Martyrs’ Day on the morning of 19 July 2022.
Yangon City Development Committee Chairman Yangon Mayor U Bo Htay and members, departmental staff and the Guard of Honour attended the event and saluted General Aung San and fallen leaders. Then, they lowered the National Flag to half-mast and shared the merits in silence for two minutes.
Following the rules of the Ministry of Health for the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministers’ Office (Secretariat) has been restricted from exploring in the past years. But in the current year 2022, people are allowed to visit the office building again, according to the rules for the prevention of the COVID-19 virus.
People may visit the meeting hall where the leaders fell and the parliamentary building, located in the Ministers’ Office (Secretariat), as a special exhibition, only between 9 am and 3 pm yesterday. On other days, the meeting room, the parliamentary building and other historical sites are open to public from 9 am to 5 pm following the prevention guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
People and vehicles on road stopped and commemorated the fallen leaders by saluting and honking at 10:37 am on the 75th Martyrs’ Day. — MNA
