The 53rd Independence Day and National Day reception of Bangladesh was held yesterday at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon.
The ceremony commenced with the National Anthems of both the Republic of Myanmar and Bangladesh, followed by a welcome speech by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Myanmar, Dr Md Monwar Hossain. Afterwards, attendees were entertained with traditional Bangladeshi cultural dances.
Afterwards, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and his wife, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Lwin Oo and his wife, along with the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Myanmar and his wife, cut a commemorative cake to celebrate Bangladesh’s 53rd Independence Day and National Day.
The Yangon Region chief minister and his wife, the deputy minister and his wife, and the ambassador and his wife then took a commemorative photo with the attendees. Following this, the ambassador and his wife hosted a dinner for those who attended the ceremony.
The Yangon Region Government Development Affairs Minister U Bo Htay and his wife, Ambassador U Kyaw Soe Moe, who have agreed to be appointed as the Myanmar ambassador to Bangladesh, and his wife, ambassadors from foreign embassies in Yangon, chargé d’affaires, resident representatives of the United Nations and invitees attended the ceremony. — MNA/TH
