Authorities order to install GPS on fuel bowsers, tankers

If the Global Positioning System (GPS) is not installed on the fuel bowers and tankers, fuel transport will be banned, according to the Myanmar Petroleum Trade Association.
The association on 20 July instructed the fuel companies, transport companies, and private companies to install GPS tracking devices on fuel bowsers and tankers as quickly as possible on 5 August.
GPS units are installed on fuel bowsers and tankers of the Petroleum Products Regulatory Department of the Ministry of Electric Power for departments concerned and relevant organizations to monitor the fuel transport or filling processes from one place to another and to receive information on traffic accidents in a timely manner. If the fuel bowsers and tankers are found without any work licences, supervising certificates and GPS units, their operations will be suspended. — TWA/GNLM
