False claims of underage military conscription circulate, authorities clarify

The subversive media outlet Khit Thit is spreading false information claiming that a 15-year-old boy named Maung Poe Chit from Ayechanthar model village in Tatkon Township, Nay Pyi Taw, was arrested by security forces to compel him into military service.
An officer from the Committee for Summoning People’s Military Servants clarified that this news was untrue. Furthermore, Section 2 (b) of Chapter 1 of the People’s Military Service Law states that a person of military service age is defined as a male citizen who is between 18 and 35 years old. Therefore, the arrest of 15-year-old Maung Poe Chit from Ayechanthar model village for forced conscription is simply false news.
Since the implementation of the People’s Military Service Law, subversive media outlets have been spreading fake news to disturb the peace and mislead the public with propaganda.
