K1.932 bln worth of 138 heroin blocks seized in Kyaikto

The Myanmar Police Force has reported the seizure of 138 blocks of heroin, weighing 48.3 kilogrammes and valued at K1.932 billion, in Kyaikto Township of Mon State.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team comprising members of the security forces intercepted and searched a Super Custom HiAce car travelling from Yeni to Mawlamyine. The vehicle, driven by Lin Lin Phyo, was stopped near Mayanchaung village in Kyaikto township at 3 pm on 30 March.
The police confiscated 138 blocks of heroin, weighing 48.3 kilogrammes and valued at K1.932 billion, from the vehicle.
Legal action has been initiated against the offender, and an ongoing investigation is underway to apprehend other individuals involved in the case. — MNA/MKKS
