Confiscations of illegal items: Timbers, fuel oil, foodstuffs and vehicles

The combined teams under the Nay Pyi Taw Council Illegal Trade Eradication Special Task Force confiscated illegal teak weighing 0.268 tonne and illegal timbers weighing 42.856 tonnes worth K1,931,752 in Tatkon township on 8 March. This enforcement was carried out under the Forest Law.
During inspections on 8 and 9 March, joint teams impounded a total of 0.899 tonne of illegal teak worth K1.7 million in Htaukkyant and a Chenglong tractor head with a trailer (estimated value of K71 million) travelling from Myitkyina to Mandalay carrying 1,280 bags (each bag weighing 25 kilogrammes) of garlic worth K64 million without official documents at the Sagaing bridge. The action was conducted under the Forest Law and Customs procedures.
On 9 March, a combined team captured three kinds of goods valued at K40 million, including 12,000 bottles of Carabao energy drink that were piled up by the side of the road in Tachilek township. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
A combined team seized illegal hardwood weighing 1.274 tonnes valued at K318,500 in Pyay district, two kinds of goods worth K8.32 million without official documents from a Yutong bus (approximate value of K40 million) travelling from Hpa-an to Yangon near the Shwethanlwin tollgate in Phayagyi on 9 March and illegal teak weighing 0.543 tonne valued at K358,908 in Toungoo district on 10 March. The action was taken under Customs procedures and the Forest Law.
A combined team confiscated a total of 24,000 gallons of illegal premium diesel worth K288 million at the Yadanabon combined checkpoint in Sagaing township and an unregistered Honda fit (approximate value of K6.5 million) in Kalay township on 10 March. The action was taken under the Petroleum and Petroleum Products Law and the Export and Import Law.
The Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee reported that 13 arrests were made on three consecutive days from 8 to 10 March, with an estimated value of more than K522.129 million. — MNA/MKKS
