State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing hears the report on the 26th-mile multiple agriculture and livestock zone yesterday.

Livestock zones must be extended in the townships outside the municipal area of Yangon City, said Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on his inspection tour of the 26th-mile multiple agriculture and livestock zone of Myanmar Economic Corporation near the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway yesterday.
Chairman of MEC Lt-Gen Nyo Saw and Deputy Managing Director U Han Zaw reported on the implementation of the 26th-mile zone and Thilawa zone, farming of dairy cows and beef cattle, cultivation of grass for feedstuffs, growing of banana and rubber plantations, poultry and fish farming works, production of feedstuffs and dairy products at fair prices.
In his response to the reports, the Senior General stressed that agriculture and livestock zones must produce meat, fish, eggs and vegetables to meet the demand of the Yangon Region. Livestock zones must be extended in the townships outside the municipal area of Yangon City. The Tatmadaw is fulfilling the needs of the people as much as possible, and the government plans to provide more assistance to them and issue the capital to livestock farmers.
The primary aim of the 26th-mile farm is to meet the local demand for rubber. Hence, it is necessary to produce rubber latex for meeting the demand of local rubber factories. Duck farming tasks must be done through research works on a wider scale. Products from the farm must be sold to people at fair prices depending on the market demand.
The Senior General then visited the farm and viewed round dairy cows and beef cows farming, the function of the feedstuffs factory and production of dairy products, and the implementation of agriculture and livestock farming tasks and left the necessary instructions. — MNA
