Myanmar delegation joins 28th ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Council (ASCC) Ministers Meeting in Cambodia

Union Religious Affairs and Culture Minister U Ko Ko and Myanmar delegation take part in the 28th ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Council Ministers Meeting in Cambodia.

Cambodia hosted the 28th ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Council (ASCC) Ministers Meeting in Phnom Penh yesterday.
The event was joined by the Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko.
Speaking at the event, Dr Hang Chuon Naron, Minister for Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia said Cambodia has a strong belief in moving forwards to ASEAN values in accordance with the Theme-ASEAN A.C.T: Addressing Challenges Together during the chairmanship.
He also pledged to cooperate for the initial steps such as emergency public healthcare service, natural disasters, the equal education system in the post-COVID-19 period, energy and food security, information, cybersecurity and challenges.
During the 28th ASCC Ministers Meeting, they discussed strategic plans of ASCC, approval of reports to be submitted at the 40th and 41st ASEAN summits, joint declaration (draft) of the 28th ASCC, the priority sectors of Cambodia during the term of chairmanship, 11 reports for the 40th and 41st ASEAN summits including another 20 records and meeting minutes of the 28th ASCC.
Union Minister U Ko Ko then appreciated the ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework and the Hanoi Declaration of ASEAN Community post-2025 Vision to implement the strategies of ASCC.
He also added that it also reaches halfway to the 2025 ASEAN Community due to the cooperation of member countries in line with the rules and regulations of ASEAN and the support of the ASEAN Secretariat.
He agreed with the supportive activities for ASCC and priority sectors of Cambodia and welcomed the good drive in the capacity and effectiveness of the ASCC, and he continued that Myanmar agrees with the declarations to be submitted to the 40th and 41st ASEAN summits. — MNA
