Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint, who arrived in Thailand for the 2nd Ethnic Culture Exchange Programme, received Vice-Governor Mr Wiraphong Rhitrot of Chiang Mai Province at the guest hall of Chiang Mai International Airport at 10 am local time yesterday.
The two parties exchanged views on the promotion of existing bilateral relations, cooperation for the socioeconomic status of ethnic people in the two countries and cultural and vocational cooperation.
Also present at the meeting were Kayin State Ethnic Affairs Minister U San Ko, Taninthayi Region Ethnic Affairs Minister U Saw Martin Luther, Consul-General U Aung Kyaw Lin and relevant officials. — MNA/KTZH
