Drugs seized in Hopong, Tachilek townships

Drugs were seized in Hopong and Tachilek townships in Shan State, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force captured 50,000 stimulant tablets from a motorbike driven by Sai Sam Naw (aka) Saisam at 140/3-Milepost on Hopong-Loilen road in Hopong township at 12:50 pm on 23 January. Similarly, at 6:15 pm on 24 January, the Police Force searched a Mark II car in Tachilek township and seized 10,000 ecstasy tablets.
According to the investigation, at 6:45 pm on the same day, Police Force arrested a trafficker Sai Kam Teik, in Samsai and then searched his house in Maing Phone (A) ward in Tachileik township. Police Force seized 0.005 kilogramme of ecstasy powder and 0.025 kilogramme of caffeine from a bedroom of the house. They are being prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. — MNA/MKKS
