13 children with congenital heart disease successfully treated at 550-bed Children’s Hospital (Yangon)

Paediatric Cardiologist Dr Do Nguyen Tin from Children’s Hospital 1 Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, together with paediatric cardiologists led by Professor Dr Khin Maung Oo treated children with congenital heart disease using the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory without the need for surgery.
A total of 13 children with congenital heart disease were successfully treated from 15 to 16 December 2022 at the Heart Treatment Centre of 550-bed Children’s Hospital, Yangon under the Ministry of Health.
The condition of the six children is good and the rest seven children will be re-examined in March 2023.
Children’s heart disease treatments are performed by paediatric cardiologists at the 550-bed Children’s Hospital, Yangon. By inviting expert paediatric cardiologists from abroad, a total of 1,403 children with heart disease have been successfully treated from August 2015 to date.

At the 550-bed Children’s Hospital, Yangon, 33,624 children were treated as outpatients, and treatments were given to 1,934 child patients with echocardiogram treatment and 88 paediatric patients who underwent Cardiac Catheterization Procedures from January 2022 to December 2022. — MNA/MKKS
