Visitors flock to ethnic traditional food booths, local product salerooms marking 76th Union Day

Exhibitions from ministries, regions and states, as well as ethnic traditional food and local products from states and regions, which are being opened and exhibited at People’s Square in Yangon, continued yesterday for the second day to commemorate the 76th Anniversary of Union Day, where students, staff from various departments and people are crowded.
Starting from 9 am, booths and fairs were opened for sale. Food and beverages from ministries are low-priced and well-packed. The public was keen to view traditional clothes, accessories and food, dual-purpose portable solar water-pumping machines for farmers, agricultural seeds and fish hatcheries.
Visitors thronged to the Fire Brigade booth showcasing the 191 Report Mobile Phone Application and the booths from the ministries of science and technology, information and sports.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Yangon City Development Committee Chairman U Bo Htay, Economy Minister U Myo Myint Aung and officials viewed round the exhibitions and booths. A music concert is also staged near the People’s Square fountain from 6 pm to 9 pm.
