Thailand allows Myanmar workers with expired work permits to stay until May

Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, said that the Thai government will allow Myanmar migrant workers whose work permits have expired to continue to stay until May.
The embassy added that the workers whose work permits have expired will be allowed to stay until 15 May, that new work permits can be applied for between 13 February and 15 May, and eligible applicants will be allowed to stay up to 13 February 2024 or 13 February 2025 and that the term of four CI camps will be extended to 13 May 2023.
The passport renewal for Myanmar migrant workers whose PJ passports expire in 2023 will be processed at the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok and the consulate-general office in Chiang Mai, the embassy stated.—TWA/MKKS
