Team Myanmar leaves for XII ASEAN Para Games

The Myanmar Paralympic Sports Team are seen at Yangon International Airport before leaving for Cambodia yesterday.

The Myanmar Paralympic Sports Team left for Cambodia by a Myanmar National Airlines chartered flight from Yangon yesterday afternoon to compete in the XII ASEAN Para Games that will be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from 3 to 9 June.
Athletes were seen off by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, and Yangon Region government ministers, Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen Zaw Hein, the director-general of the Department of Sports and Physical Education, Principal U Aung Naing Swe of the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon), Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Department Director U Aung Moe, and officials at the Yangon International Airport yesterday.
Maj-Gen Hla Moe, Director of Resettlements from the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army), Ministry of Defence, who is also the chairman of the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation, and other guests including coaches, administrators, referees and athletes totalling 126 persons are on the sports contingent.
Team Myanmar will compete in eight kinds of sports: athletics, swimming, football, goalball, weightlifting, chess, table tennis, and sitting volleyball. — MNA/KZL
