Myanmar Fire Brigade forms immediate response units for natural disasters in storm-prone regions

According to the Myanmar Fire Brigade Headquarters, units have been formed at the township and regional levels to provide immediate aid and rescue operations in the event of natural disasters, including storms.
U Thein Tun Oo, the Director of the Fire Services Department, stated that these units have been established in the Yangon, Ayeyawady, and Bago regions, which are prone to storms during the rainy season.
“In order to respond immediately to storms and natural disasters, we have organized fire platoons of 35 fire brigade members each in townships within Yangon, Ayeyawady, and Bago regions. We are prepared to respond immediately. If necessary, we have also formed units of 116 regional-level personnel with equipment to assist,” U Thein Tun Oo added.
In the event of a disaster, including storms, the Myanmar Fire Brigade provides assistance and conducts search and rescue operations, as well as clearing and removing blockages and damage to buildings and roads as quickly as possible.
The Myanmar Fire Brigade has prepared the necessary life ropes, life vests, life boats, and emergency search and rescue equipment for these activities. — ASH/KZL
