The event will be held at the Chinese Culture Centre Yangon in Minye Kyawswa Street, Ahlon Township, Yangon Region, from 10 am to 4 pm on 5 and 6 February.
Visitors can enjoy a photo exhibition on “Flavour of Chinese New Year Festival”, short video clips on “Spring is Coming”, and self-made experiences of Chinese intangible cultural heritage such as tie-dyeing and paper-cutting.
Guests will also be able to taste traditional Chinese delicacies like dumplings and cross-bridge rice noodles, while those interested will be able to try on ancient Chinese costumes.
Moreover, the festival will feature traditional entertainment such as lantern riddle guessing, shuttlecock kicking, and pitch pot games.
The Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism will hold the Chinese New Year Culture and Tourism Campaign from 18 January to 11 March, and the Happy New Year Festival section of the campaign will include nearly 500 cultural exchange events in various forms in more than 100 nations and regions, including Myanmar. — Htet Oo Maung/ZN
