Magway Myathalun Pagoda to host Vesak Day rice offering and banyan tree watering festival

The Myathalun Pagoda’s Board of Trustees has announced that the rice offering ceremony for over 1,000 monks and the watering of the banyan tree festival will take place at the Magway Myathalun Pagoda on Vesak Day (Full Moon Day of Kason).
The festival will be organized by the Rice Offering Festival Committee in Magway region, in collaboration with donors from various departments and townships, on the morning of 22 May.
U Ohn Kyaing, a member of the Myathalun Pagoda’s Board of Trustees, stated, “On Vesak Day morning, there will be a rice offering ceremony at the Myathalun Pagoda. We will provide offerings to over 1,000 monks from the monasteries. In the evening, we will celebrate Vesak Day by watering the banyan trees in the pagoda’s precinct, as we have done in previous years.” — ASH/TRKM
