MIFER holds 45th Friday Talk

Union Minister Dr Kan Zaw speaks on the MIFER’s 45th Friday Talk occasion yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations (MIFER), aiming to develop human resources and improve staff members’ capacity, conducted the 45th Friday Talk of Knowledge Sharing Programme (KSP) ceremony at Office No 1, Nay Pyi Taw. MIFER Union Minister Dr Kan Zaw delivered the opening remarks yesterday.
The Union minister pointed out that there are many topics such as local, regional and international affairs in the daily KSP programme are discussed to get not only local knowledge but also foreign experience; today’s topic, “A study on Public- Private Partnership application of infrastructure investment in Mandalay Region, and these discussion points need to understand for all MIFER’ staff. He highlighted that Mandalay Region is located economically and has investment opportunities. This region is ranked No 5 in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and No 2 in Myanmar Citizens Investment (MCI). Moreover, there is economic infrastructure and opportunities for investment in the Mandalay Region. The Union minister expressed that three types of economic models, such as the governmental-led economic integration model, the Public-Private Partnership economic model and the private economic integration model, are implemented harmoniously. He urged all participants to take part actively in the discussion.
Deputy Director Daw M Tsawm Hkawm of the Directorate of Investment Company Administration proposed “A study on Public Private Partnership application of infrastructure investment in Mandalay Region”. Afterwards, the deputy minister and attendees openly discussed matters related to the Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
Hailing the 77th Union Day 2024, a traditional food festival was then held at Office No 1 and attended by the Union minister and officials yesterday evening. The deputy minister, the Union Auditor-General, the director-general, and all officials and staff, totalling nearly 300, actively participated in the ceremony. — MIFER
