Around 1000 people come to pay tax at Myanmar Embassy in Thailand daily

There are 1000 people on average come to Myanmar Embassy in Thailand for paying tax daily on office days, said the embassy.

The embassy has issued tax receipt within the day and 35919 people have completed the tax payment as from 13 December 2023 the date the taxation took into effect until 8 February 2024.

Taxpayers need to keep properly tax receipts and when they come back to Myanmar, they can use it in seeking tax exemption when they purchase real estate and vehicles by calculating the amount of income exempted from tax at the township internal revenue department. It said.

The statement said those who are working together in same factory or workshop and workplace don’t need to come individually but can pay tax by sending a person representing them, and the represented person will have to fill passport name, gender, passport number, date of brith, date of issue and date of expiry of each worker in tax form.

Myanmar workers who paid tax will have to bring tax receipt when they need to come to Myanmar Embassy and Consulate General Office (Chiang Mai) if they have matters, the embassy warned.
