Workshop on enhancing agriculture trade facilitation in Myanmar held

The project’s inception workshop, “Improvement of Agriculture Trade Facilitation to Encourage Supply Chain of Myanmar’s Agriculture Products in Collaboration with LMC Countries”, initiated with the LMC Special Fund (2023), was organized in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the ceremony, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung talked about the role of trade facilitation in promoting the agricultural produce export volumes and expanding the market, proper measures for the farmers and those who participate in demand and supply chain, the needs to follow the trading agreements, rule and regulations of the partner countries and proper solutions for the challenges in trading the meat, fish and agricultural produce.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation was permitted to implement 35 projects with US$12.18 million with the LMC Special Fund from 2017 to 2023. The ministry implemented four projects in 2023 with US$1.29 million. — MNA/KTZH
