FDA flags 30 unregistered cosmetics for potential safety risks

G1

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Department issued a warning against the 30 unregistered cosmetics that are considered to be unsafe for use.
Under the directive of the Ministry of Health, the FDA has been supervising the market systematically to ensure the quality of cosmetics that are considered safe for use. According to the Post-Marketing Alert System (PMAS) Report, the 30 cosmetics made in the regional countries were found unregistered and containing hazardous substances and prohibited chemicals that are harmful to health and unsafe for use.
Those prohibited chemicals can cause skin irritation, swelling, rash, numbness, muscle cramps, fatigue, headaches, dizziness and depression. Long-term exposure to those substances can also result in kidney failure and other chronic diseases.
Thus, cosmetic importing companies, distributors, wholesalers and retailers should not ethically distribute unregistered cosmetics that are declared unsafe for use. The relevant authorities will take legal action against them under Sub-Section 3(d) of Section 3, of the Public Health Law for non-compliance. — NN/EM
