Dapein (1) Hydropower Station of China Datang Corporation Ltd stands deep in the mountains of northern Myanmar. It is adjacent to the Dapein River at the China-Myanmar border and surrounded by mountains and virgin forests. It has an installed capacity of 240,000 kilowatts. The construction of this hydropower station was commenced in July 2007. This hydropower station is the first one invested, constructed and operated overseas by China Datang Corporation Ltd. It is also a power corridor between China and Myanmar, and an important window towards Southeast Asia through Myanmar. In the past 15 years, Dapein (1) Hydropower Station has reliably provided clean energy for the people of Myanmar, effectively improving people’s livelihoods and local economy. It has been praised by various sectors in Myanmar as an outstanding corporate image of Datang.
Recently, five Myanmar employees have completed entry procedures for Dapein (1) Hydropower Station, the second batch of Myanmar production and technical professionals recruited successfully this year, indicating that Dapein (1) Hydropower Station is at a rapid development stage of local employment and talent cultivation.
