Agricultural tasks must be undertaken through modern techniques rather than conventional methods: Senior General

Only when agriculture and production rise will locals have increased incomes, said Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in inspecting the progress of agricultural and livestock farms in the Nyaunghnapin agriculture and livestock special zone yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting hall of the special zone, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials reported on a brief history of the special zone, agriculture and livestock farming tasks in sections of the zone, production and sale of vegetables, meat, milk and eggs, the accomplishment of the guidance of the Senior General on his tour in June 2022, the average consumption of Yangon Region for meat and fish per month and year, repairing of roads in the zone, further implementation of the zone, and plans to reclaim livestock zones in Taikkyi and Twantay townships.
In his speech, the Senior General stressed the need to systematically supervise full farming tasks for agriculture and livestock breeding and prevention of abuse of agricultural and livestock farmlands. Private entrepreneurs are regulated to actually operate agriculture and livestock farms on the allotted lands. Agricultural tasks must be undertaken through modern techniques, rather than conventional methods. Only when agriculture and production rise will the locals have increased incomes. Manufacturing roads must be built systematically in the zone. The Senior General also discussed future tasks for the development of the agricultural and livestock sectors.
At Green Light Agriculture and Livestock Farm, an official briefed on raising the layers in the farms, fish farming tasks and cultivation of perennial crops, breeding of fingerlings and nurturing the saplings.
After hearing the reports, the Senior General pointed out that feedstuffs must be produced in Yangon Region with the use of domestic agricultural production.
The Senior General inspected raising layers at the farm, fish farming tasks, and cultivation of perennial plants and gave necessary guidance. The Senior General also inspected the private layer farm and the goat farm and agricultural patches of the Yangon Region government and visited the vegetable wholesale complex 2. — MNA/TTA
