SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects progress of Korea-Myanmar Industrial Complex (KMIC), maintenance of Pyidaungsu Hall and buildings of National Convention near Nyaughnapin Village

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing yesterday afternoon inspected a site chosen for the implementation of the Korea-Myanmar Industrial Complex (KMIC) near Nyaughnapin Village in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region.
Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant reported on the implementation of the project in phases, preparations for building the staff housings, buildings and roads, supply of electricity and water, land utilization for the project and formation of the project steering body.
After hearing the reports, the Senior General stressed the need to choose the sites for staff housing. It is necessary to supply sufficient water under systematic measures. Infrastructures must be prepared for rapid implementation of the projects.
The Senior General highlighted it is necessary to prepare to undertake agriculture and livestock farms and construction of the hospitals for providing food and accommodation as well as healthcare services for workers. He called for connection with relevant companies to timely implement the project.
The Senior General inspected the documentary photos on maintenance of the Pyidaungsu Hall where the National Convention was convened and Anawrahta Yeiktha, and visited there.
The Senior General gave guidance that these buildings were used in convening the National Convention to draw the Constitution (2008), and it is necessary to maintain these buildings without damage, he added.
A total of 702 delegates from eight groups held the National Convention seven times to approve the Constitution (2008) at the Pyidaungsu Hall from 2004 to 2007. After that, the Pyidaungsu Hall was not used. Due to a lack of maintenance, the hall was damaged. In accord with the guidance of the Senior General during his visit, maintenance was undertaken at the hall. — MNA/TTA
