Misinformation spread by media outlets regarding village fire incident clarified

The subversive media outlet Khit Thit has been circulating false news in an attempt to sow confusion among the public. They have accused security forces of setting fire to houses in Chipa Village, Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, on 24 April.
According to a security official, PDF terrorists were extorting money and subjecting travellers on the Shwebo-Seikkhun-Mukangyi road to torture. Consequently, security forces were conducting operations in the vicinity of the village to ensure the safety of the public during travel. During these operations, PDF members launched sudden attacks on the security forces using heavy weapons and drones, destroying houses in the village.
These terrorists, who engage in abduction, torture, and terrorist activities, are attempting to manipulate public opinion by spreading one-sided accusations and false information on social media platforms. They aim to conceal their terrorist actions and shift blame onto the security forces. — MNA/TKO
