All media persons need to uphold the national interests of the nation

MPC Chairman U Ohn Maung (Myinmu Maung Naing Moe) recounts experiences in cooperation with international press councils on 3 September.

The Myanmar Press Council recounted its experiences on cooperation with international media councils in its third term, at the hall of Printing and Publishing Department on Theinbyu Road in Yangon on 3 September.
On the occasion, Chairman of the council U Ohn Maung (Myinmu Maung Naing Moe) said that currently, occurrence of evil events across the nation was based on fake news and false information. Hence, media and news agencies need to strive for rebutting fake news and fabricated news and disseminating true news not only to the people but also to the international community. MPC frequently held discussions and exchanged information with media councils from ASEAN states and other international media councils. All media persons need to uphold the national interests of the nation.
The chairman explained participation of the MPC personnel in the World Association of Press Councils held in Nairobi of Kenya from 2 to 8 May 2022, and Secretary U Aye Chan the Dili Dialogue Forum in Timor-Leste on 25 and 26 August.
The chairman gave a concluding remark, saying that all media personnel need to review internal and international affairs. As some political measures are sensitive, media persons have to enhance their capacity with political outlook in creation of information.—MNA
