All need to strive for flourishing traditional culture and fine arts in the hearts of a new generation of youths: Vice-Senior General

Applying a network of social media can benefit education and health sectors as well as tarnish images of political, economic, security, social and cultural affairs of the country, said the Patron of the Leading Committee on Organizing the 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win at the second coordination meeting of the leading committee at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
Social media brings extreme attitudes and behaviours under the disguise of fine arts against the actual social life to the new generation of youths who are keen to shoulder the State duty with creativity and adventurous spirit.
In fact, the fine arts are charming and subtle with the prowess of changing rudeness to politeness and vice versa. As such, officials are striving for organizing the Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions to unveil the fine arts in accord with the guidance of the Head of State.
Media reports of the performing arts competitions being held in regions and states catch the attention of the people. As holding for the central level competitions is getting nearer, the working committee and subcommittees are to beef up their assignments for the competitions.
The Vice-Senior General stressed the need for all to report the progress of preparation to hold the competitions on schedules and seek the decisions for remaining assignments.
Chairman of the leading committee Union Minister U Ko Ko reported on arrangements for the competitions and plans of awarding. The secretary of the leading committee reported on the progress of preparations.
Members of the leading committee Union ministers and officials from subcommittees participated in the discussions.
In his concluding remarks, the Vice-Senior General said all need to strive for flourishing traditional culture and fine arts in the hearts of a new generation youths and to hand over the legacy to new generations. — MNA
