Armed terrorists ambush security forces in townships of Sagaing Region

Armed terrorists ambushed security forces patrolling and investigating crimes in Dabayin Township, Mingin Township, Kawlin Township, Htigyaing Township in Sagaing Region on 2 July, killing one member of the security forces and six injured.
Despite the five attempts to kill members of the security forces in the ambush attacks, armed terrorists had to retreat after retaliated by the security forces. A total of 4 mortars and 6 percussion lock firearms were confiscated during the clash in Dabayin Township.
Security forces were attacked on the way to investigate the murder case in South Ywashay village, Kawlin Township. Armed terrorists exploded mines on the road and attacked them with firearms. Two members of the security forces were injured due to the attack and one of three vehicles was destroyed. In the afternoon, Kawlin township police station was under terrorist attack and one galvanized roof of the women’s cell was slightly damaged.
On the same day, one member of the security forces was killed and four were injured in a terrorist ambush while patrolling the area in Htigyaing around midnight. It is reported that security forces are working to stabilize the area. —MNA
