Armed terrorists ambush vehicles; one man killed, one security guard wounded

A man was killed and a security guard was wounded when armed terrorists ambushed the cash transport trucks in Ye Township, Mon State, on 24 November.
The vehicles escorted by members of the security forces were transporting funds from the Myanma Economic Bank branch (1) from Mawlamyine to its branch in Ye Township and were ambushed by armed insurgents and the PDF terrorists near Kaninkamawt village on the Mawlamyine-Ye road at around 4 pm.
After around 15 minutes, they retreated towards Kaninkamawt village and Hnitkayin village when the security forces fired at them. During the clash, a driver of the truck was shot dead and a security guard was wounded. One of the vehicle’s windshields was also broken. The armoured cash transport trucks finally arrived at Ye at 6:40 pm, it is reported.—MNA
