Arrests of undocumented migrants in Malaysia rise, Myanmar workers need to be cautious

Arrests of undocumented migrants have been in rise in Malaysia, that is why Lovely Heart Philanthropic Myanmar Youth Blood donor group (Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia) which helps Myanmar workers in Malaysia warned of being cautious.

11 people the group saved were arrested while arresting illegal migrants and conducting of inspections is still present around the office so they have temporarily stopped saving Myanmar nationals who have difficulty with accommodation, it said.

“Currently, 11 people from our office were also arrested. That is why it is not convenient to accept those who have no place to stay during this period,” said a spokesperson from the group.

Despite inability to provide accommodation, those who have place to live but having trouble with finding food can request assistance anywhere in Malaysia, it said.
