Asia-Europe underwater cable communication system to be repaired

The Department of Fisheries announced a warning for fishing boats to follow maritime warnings when the Asia-Europe underwater cable communication system will be repaired from 20 December 2022 to 1 February 2023.
Repairs will be carried out due to the interruption of the Asia-Europe international communication underwater cable system that is 110 kilometres from the Pyapon Cable Landing Station in the Ayeyawady Region was broken on 5 November.
The repair work will be underway by the ASEAN Restorer ship which is an underwater cable repaired ship.
The announcement warned that large and small ships, cargo ships, and fishing boats do not pass through, drop anchorage, and lay fishing gear within four kilometres from the places where the repair works are to be carried out. – TWA/MKKS
