Bangladeshi naval vessel departs after handing over humanitarian aid

Humanitarian aid seen being unloaded from the Bangladeshi navy ship before its departure yesterday.

The ceremony to hand over food items and relief supplies for storm victims in Rakhine State was held at MITT jetty of Thilawa Port in Yangon yesterday and relief aid was handed over by Mr ASM Sayem, Bangladeshi chargé d’affaires, to U Aung Win Thein, the Minister of Social Affairs of the Yangon Region government.
Director of the Disaster Management Department of the Yangon Region U Than Soe, Tatmadaw (Navy) officers, Bangladeshi military attaché and officials from the embassy, departmental staff and officials attended the event.
The Bangladeshi navy ship BNS Somudra Joy (F-28) that carried the relief aid left for home yesterday evening. — MNA/KZW
