Buddhological mural paintings in Thagyapone temple available for revered

The Thagyapone temple dating back to 12th Century AD in the Bagan-NyaungU ancient cultural zone in Mandalay Region is available for worship, and visitors can also see mural paintings portraying Buddhological works or the life story of the Lord Buddha.
It is a neighbouring temple of Thagyahit temple and is located in Wetgyiinn ward of NyaungU, the north-east of old Bagan. Both temples have caves in which Buddhological work is portrayed with both reliefs and mural paintings.
The cave of Thagyapone temple accommodates a small Buddha image enveloped by a large one. Such a Buddha image faces the eastern wing of the chamber.
There are several neighbouring temples named Shwezigon pagoda in the east, the Thagyahit, Shweleiktu and Shweleikpauk temples in the south, the Htilo Minlo temple in the south west and the Ngwezigon, Stumukha and Thangetaw temples in the west. — Dipa Lin/TH
