CBM Deputy Governor attends 27th ASEAN Senior Level Committee Meeting for Financial Integration

The 27th ASEAN Senior Level Committee Meeting for Financial Intergration in progress online yesterday.

Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Dr Lin Aung, and senior officials joined the 27th ASEAN Senior Level Committee Meeting for Financial Integration virtually yesterday.
Officials of the Laos Central Bank and Monetary of Singapore, co-chairs of the meeting, first made opening speeches respectively.
The Lao official then clarified the monetary cooperation activities to be conducted in 2024 while the officials of the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) and ASEAN Development Bank (ADB) presented the progress in Macroeconomic performance and financial development.
The official of the ASEAN Secretariat clarified the ASEAN Economic Cooperation (AEC), and co-chairs of the ASEAN Banking Integration Framework (ABIF) Work Committee and Work Committee on Payment and Settlement System (PSS) explained the ASEAN Interoperable Data Framework while the roadmap of regional payment by co-chair of Work Committee on PSS and BIS Innovation Hub Singapore Centre.
Moreover, the relevant officials presented on the progress of the ASEAN Banking Integration Framework (ABIF), Capital Account Liberalization (CAL), Capital Market Development (CMD), Financial Inclusion (FINC), Financial Services Liberalization (FSL), Payment and Settlement System (PSS) and Steering Committee on Capacity Building (SCC).
The officials also discussed the Risk Monitoring Reported based on the Risk Monitoring Template (RMT).
Moreover, officials clarified the Sustainable Finance under the SLC Task Force, while the Central Bank of Laos clarified the ASEAN Cybersecurity Resilience and Information Sharing Platform – CRISP and the Central Bank of the Philippines about ASEAN Swap Arrangement – ASA.
In addition, the co-chairs of the work committee on Capital Account Liberalization (CAL) discussed the draft of the ASEAN Local Currency Transaction-LCT Framework. — MNA/KTZH
