A ceremony to honour athletes who won medals in the SAC Chairman’s Cup Inter-Ministry Volleyball Tournament took place at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Defence yesterday morning.
First, Union Minister for Defence General Mya Tun Oo expressed that he was happy and proud that the sportsmen and sportswomen of his ministry won well-deserved trophies. He encouraged them to continue trying hard to become athletes on the nationally selected teams.
Afterwards, Adjutant-General Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo gave the SAC Chairman’s cash awards to the men’s and women’s volleyball teams. Union Minister General Mya Tun Oo also presented honorary awards to them.
Then, warrant officer Khin Maung Toe, chief coach of the Ministry of Defence volleyball team, gave words of thanks on behalf of the athletes who won medals. —MNA/KZW
