State Peace Talks Team holds talks with RCSS Chair-led peace delegation

The meeting between the State Peace Talks Team and the peace delegation led by the chairman of the Restoration Council of Shan State is in progress in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

A meeting between the State Peace Talks Team and the peace delegation from the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) was held yesterday morning at the National Unity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw.
First, SAC Member Union Minister SPTT Leader Lt-Gen Yar Pyae warmly greeted General Yawd Serk, Chairman of the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) and delegation. Then, the two sides discussed issues according to agreed agendas in a frank and open manner.
The meeting was attended by State Administration Council Member Union Minister at the Government Office Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee-NSPNC Peace Talks Team Leader Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and members — SAC Member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naung and member Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein, RCSS Chair General Yawd Serk, RCSS’s central executive committee members Sao Saung Han, Sao Um Kh and representatives.
Both sides discussed the pending issues from the second meeting to be discussed, amending the basic articles of the Constitution (2008) and the proposals that both parties want to discuss. The first-day meeting was adjourned and the talks will continue on 25 January.—MNA/TS
