Chinese Ambassador sees security activities at Golden Triangle waters

According to the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar, officials from the embassy, led by Chinese Ambassador Mr Chen Hai, on 25 May visited the maritime security activities conducted by the four countries — China, Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos — at the Golden Triangle area, where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet.
The delegation visited the Wang Pong Station, under the Shan State Maritime Police Division, which was built with the support of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund.
Similarly, with a floating patrol boat donated by China, they went to the Golden Triangle waters in the Thai-Myanmar-Laos border area and conducted a field study of the four-nation joint patrol situation. Afterwards, they met and encouraged Chinese police officers stationed at the border.
The Chinese ambassador and his delegation met officials from the Shan State Maritime Police Division. They exchanged views on promoting the fight against cross-border crimes, matters related to the joint combat against online communication scams and online gambling crimes, and the protection of the safety of people’s lives and property. — ASH/TH
