Chinese Navy Escort Task Group (ETG) arrives in Yangon for bilateral activities

Three naval vessels from the People’s Liberation Army’s 44th Navy Escort Task Group (ETG) arrived at Thilawa Port in Yangon yesterday afternoon.
Destroyer Zibo (Destroyer), Frigate Jing Zhou, and Qian Dao Hu (a replenishment ship) were warmly welcomed by senior officers and personnel from the Tatmadaw (Navy), officials from the Chinese Embassy, and the military attaché office to Myanmar, as well as representatives from the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar and the China-Myanmar Buddhist Association.
Senior Captain Sun Bo is leading the 700-strong naval task force in a bid to conduct naval security exercises between Myanmar and China, participate in friendly sports matches, and visit places of historical and cultural significance in Yangon. — MNA/NT
