Chinese tourists are scheduled to visit Ngwehsaung Beach as part of the Myanmar-China Tourism Promotion Familiarization Trip (FAM-Trip) programme, according to the Ayeyawady Region Tourism Promotion Committee.
More bungalows will be built in the hotel zone of Ngwehsaung Beach, according to the resolution passed during the Ayeyawady Region Tourism Promotion Committee meeting 1/2024 on 7 May. The committee is also making necessary arrangements for the upcoming tour programmes, including the FAM Trip for Chinese tourists.
The FAM Trip programme will include not only Ngwehsaung Beach but also other attractive tour destinations near Pathein Township, such as Lovers Island, the 19-Mile Elephant Camp, Moemakha Elephant Camp, and Thazin Village.
Currently, there are a total of 32 hotels and five guesthouses with 1,861 rooms open at Ngwehsaung Beach, all licensed by the Region Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.
The beach authorities prioritize the cleanliness of the sea view, sandy beach, landscaping within the hotel compound and along the coast, as well as corridors and public areas of each hotel, while also ensuring that local foods are well-prepared for the visitors.
Similarly, the Myanmar-Russia Tourism Promotion Familiarization Trip (FAM-Trip) was organized in October 2023, featuring 14 tour destinations in Myanmar. — ASH/TMT
