Confiscated illegal items: Foodstuffs, industrial materials, consumer goods, motorbike parts and vehicles

The combined team from the Yangon Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force conducted inspections on 25 January and confiscated a Mitsubishi Fuso truck (valued at approximately K32 million), travelling from Hpa-an to Yangon, carrying 1,000 motorbike tyres worth about K7.672 million, which were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID), at the Ywathagyi Dry Port. This action was taken in accordance with Customs procedures.
On 26 January, the combined team, overseen by the Bago Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force, seized two Toyota Hilux vehicles (estimated value of K20 million) – one travelling from Hpa-an to Bago and the other from Thaton to Bago. These vehicles were transporting three types of goods valued at K3 million, including 400 bags of Doll diamond syrup and 750 kilograms of chicken sticks without official documents, at the Nyaungkhashay x-ray station. This action was conducted as per Customs procedures.
During inspections on 27 and 28 January, an on-duty team from the Customs Department intercepted a Mitsubishi Fuso truck and a Faw tractor head with a trailer (estimated value of K70 million), travelling from Myawady to Yangon. These vehicles were carrying three types of goods worth K9.75 million, including 700 kilograms of Berman toothbrushes and 2,000 kilograms of Innoplus high-density polyethylene without official documents, at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint. This action was conducted under Customs procedures.
According to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, ten arrests were made over four consecutive days from 25 to 28 January, with an estimated value of K142.42 million. — MNA/MKKS
