Confiscations of illegal items: Timbers, fuel oil, foodstuffs, industrial materials, consumer goods, motorbikes and vehicles

The Nay Pyi Taw Council Illegal Trade Eradication Special Task Force seized a total of 0.728 tonne of illegal teak and 38.033 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K1,685,919 in Pyinmana, Lewe and Ottara Districts on 1 March. This enforcement was carried out under the Forest Law.
On 4 March, the combined teams supervised by the Magway Region Illegal Trade Eradication Special Task Force nabbed six unregistered motorbikes (estimated value of K2.5 million) carrying 52 gallons of illegal fuel oil and 32 gallons of illicit diesel premium valued at K1,176,160 in Kuphyu village and Pyaungpya village in Mindon Township, an unregistered Lifan Faw vehicles worth K11 million near Panpingon village in Mindon Township and a total of 1.808 tonnes of illegal teak worth K147,222 in Sedoktara Township in Minbu District. The action was conducted under the Petroleum and Petroleum Products Law, the Export and Import Law and the Forest Law.
On the same day, the combined team captured two vehicles, travelling from Hpa-an to Yangon, carrying 12 kinds of goods worth K28.648 million, including 144 Pangolin safety helmets without official documents, at the Ywathagyi Dry Port. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
Additionally, on the same day, the combined teams impounded 163 kilogrammes of illegal lead, 12 Chanchai two-piston engines together with five related accessories valued at K9.45 million in Bokpyin Township, a wooden boat (estimated value of K19.15 million) carrying illegal timbers weighing 7.177 tonnes worth K1,076,640 in the Samongalat water in Kyunsu Township and six unregistered motorbikes valued at K4.8 million in Kyunsu and Myeik Townships. The action was taken under the Myanmar Mines Law, the Forest Law and the Export and Import Law.
Similarly, the joint teams confiscated an Isuzu truck (approximately worth K30 million) heading to Bago from Thaton, carrying four kinds of goods worth K7.9 million, including 200 bottles of Two-Shrimp brand palm oil without official documents near the Shwethanlwin Tollgate in Phayagyi. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
On the same day, the combined Customs teams captured 17,000 kilogrammes of Xingfa aluminium profiles valued at K92.82 million that were different from the Import Declaration (ID) and a Fuyin winding machine worth K3.108 million without Import Licence from two containers at the Myanmar Industrial Port, 5,000 sets of LKB NH3 oil filters worth K5.586 million that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint and a Higer bus (approximately K35 million), heading to Yangon from Hpa-an, carrying two kinds of goods worth K4.5 million including 4,860 boxes of Lactasoy soy milk without official documents at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
Illegal jade weighing 909.50 kilogrammes was seized at the Nantsiaung combined checkpoint in Mohnyin Township on 5 March, and the action was taken under the Myanmar Gemstone Law.
The Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee reported that 23 arrests were made on 1,4 and 5 March, with an estimated value of K368.286 million. — MNA/MKKS
