The coordination meeting is underway to protect Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand yesterday.

A coordination meeting on the protection of the interests of Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday.
It was attended by State Administration Council member U Thein Nyunt, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Wunna Maung Lwin, Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, Union Minister for Labour Dr Pwint San, MoFA Deputy Minister U Kyaw Myo Htut and Permanent Secretary U Chan Aye, Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand U Chit Swe, Director-General U Kyaw Tin Shein of the Department of Consular and Legal Affairs and other relevant officials.
Union ministers and the Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand discussed the legal employment of Myanmar migrant workers, extension and issuance of passports, challenges and suitable arrangements in granting certificates to the unidentified migrant workers. Moreover, they focused on long-term and short-term projects for passport renewal processes and other matters related to the interests of citizens and the organizing of working groups. — MNA/KTZH
