COVID-19 vaccination continues in different states, regions

Doctors and nurses from public hospitals, Tatmadaw medical teams, healthcare workers and volunteers are working hard to give COVID-19 vaccines in different states and regions as the vaccination programme is one of the most important activities in the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 disease.
COVID-19 vaccine is being given daily to target groups regardless of race or religion including Buddhist monks and nuns, local people over the age of 40, students, religious leaders, prisoners, people with disabilities, ethnic armed groups, people with chronic diseases, people in IDP camps and over 12-year-old students respectively.
Doctors and nurses from public hospitals, medical teams from the Tatmadaw, relevant healthcare workers in collaboration with volunteers have already given COVID-19 vaccines to 1,144 people from three townships in northern Shan State, 7,054 people from five townships in eastern Shan State, 16,888 local people and monks from 14 townships in Mon and Kayin states, 7,968 people from four townships in Yangon Region, 41,084 people from 26 townships of Ayeyawady Region, 5,145 people from five townships in Rakhine State, 270 people from Kalay Township, Sagaing Region, 9,654 people from seven districts of Mandalay Region and 520 people from Htantabin Township in Bago Region respectively.
Similarly, healthcare officials gave the vaccines to 5,947 students from 26 townships in Ayeyawady Region, and 178 students from Paletwa, Chin State.
It is reported that officials from the respective military commands visited the site and coordinated the necessary work. —MNA
