The Department Meteorology and Hydrology issued the weather forecast for water levels of Ayeyawady, Chindwin, Myittha, Sittoung, Thanlwin, Thaungyin, Ngawun, Toe, Kaladan, Laymyo and Bilin rivers within the second 10-day period of September on 11 September 2022.
According to the DMH’s announcement, the water levels of Ayeyawady River may rise above the present levels by about 1-2 feet at Myitkyina, Bhamo, Shwegu, Katha, Thabeikkyin, Mandalay, Sagaing and Myinmu and about 2-4 feet at Pakokku, NyaungU, Chauk, Minbu, Magway, Aunglan, Pyay, Seiktha, Hinthada and Zalun.
The water levels of Chindwin River may rise above the present levels by about 1-3 feet at Khamti, Homalin, Phaungpyin, Mawlaik, Kalewa, Mingin, Kani and Monywa.
The water level of Myittha River may rise above the present level by about 3 feet at Kalay, Dokhtawady River about 1-2 feet at Hsipaw, Shwesayan and Myitnge, Sittoung River about 1-2 feet at Toungoo and Madauk, Shwegyin River about 1.5 feet at Shwegyin, Bago River by about 1-3 feet at Zaungtu and Bago, Thanlwin River about 2-3 feet at Pasawng and Hpa-an, Thaungyin River about 2 feet at Myawady, Ngawun River about 1-3 feet at Ngathainggyoung, Thabaung and Pathein, Toe River one foot at Maubin, Kaladan River about 0.5-1 foot at Paletwa and Kyauktaw, Laymyo River about 1 foot at MraukU and Bilin River about 1.5 feet at Bilin.— TWA/GNLM
