As the infection rate of the COVID-19 pandemic is on the decrease, the Ministry of Health has eased the restrictions on gathering 100 people instead of 50 persons, except for some exceptional cases at present. Consequently, the education machinery, manufacturing machinery and transport machinery which came to a halt should be considered to resume the operations.
Currently, the anti-COVID-19 vaccines are purchased to arrive in Myanmar in batches one after another. So far, a total of 35 per cent of the total population of the country has been vaccinated against COVID-19. Hence, more vaccines are being purchased from friendly countries for performing vaccination to meet the aim for vaccination of 50 per cent total population by 2021.
Since October 2021, anti-COVID-19 vaccines are being given to the students of basic education aged 12 and above for the first jab. As preventive measures of the disease have been taken, the government started giving priority to serving the interests of the people.
As of 1 November, the government allowed the reopening of basic education schools, private schools and monastic education schools in all townships except 46 townships in border areas of nine regions and states where the infection rate of the disease is still high. That is why basic education students can get the chance to learn education. Now, they have good chances to improve their education.
As the government is arranging to reopen the higher education sector. It is an effort to emphasize the turning out of human resources for the improvement of the nation. Currently, students are ready to learn whereas teachers are ready to teach. Hence, the education society will be flourishing in the near future.
In making efforts for the development of the State, not only the promotion of educational qualification of the citizens but the role of students nurturing the new generations is of great importance. The teachers are serving the duties of teaching the students while improving their qualifications and capacity. Only when the teachers are qualified with higher capacity and critical thinking, can they turn out the good and able students endowed with high capability. Those new generation students would become qualified human resources, capable of taking a leading role in all sectors of the country in the future. If so, they will be State builders.
