Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe holds talks with ambassadors and charges d’affaires yesterday.

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe met the ambassadors and 19 chargés d’affaires who were temporarily brought back to Myanmar to attend the head of state’s lecture, along with four ambassadors departing for their respective postings, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office yesterday.
During his remarks, the Union minister emphasized the crucial role of diplomats in representing their country and citizens on the international stage. The meeting aimed to brief officials on addressing challenges and staying abreast of the country’s policies.
He stressed the importance of teamwork, advocating for an impartial foreign policy, and fostering diplomacy to transform adversaries into allies.
He emphasized that ambassadors must remain steadfast in fulfilling their duties and maintaining loyalty to their country despite pressures from powerful nations.
Subsequently, the ambassadors and officials shared their insights on the perspectives of the nations they represented regarding Myanmar, prospects for strengthening bilateral ties, ongoing projects, and the country’s interests. The Union minister provided his suggestions and brought the meeting to a close. — MNA/NT
