Drugs seized in some townships across Myanmar

Drugs were seized in Myitkyina, Hmawby and Mongmit townships, according to Myanmar Police Force. A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force stopped and searched a motorbike driven by Zaw Aung (aka) Aung Aung and an X-Trail car driven by Ma Laphai Ja Aung on municipal road in Yuzana Ward of Myitkyina township. A total of 2.2 kilogrammes of heroin were found.
At 4 pm on the same day, Myanmar Police Force searched the house of Thet Naing Oo (aka) Baekyaw and found Thet Naing Oo (aka) Baekyaw, Yan Lin Lin (aka) Yangon and Ma Micho with 2,000 stimulant tablets in Myawady.
At 1 pm on the same day, Myanmar Police Force examined a suspected Hla Htay near Satthwataw village in Hmawby township and captured 5,800 stimulant tablets.
In addition, at 11 am on the same day, a combined team including members of the Anti-Drug Police Force examined a motorbike driven by Naw Naw (aka) Arrti on Mongmit-Mantong road in Mongmit township and seized 59,000 stimulant tablets.
The suspects are prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, it is learnt. — MNA
